
E-FWD, Technology and Innovation in Energy Event in Glasgow.
Invited by Owen Watt, Chief Growth Officer at DC Thomson, Marie joined the panel alongside representation from academia and the business community at the E-FWD Technology and Innovation in Energy, Business Breakfast in Glasgow on Friday 17th January. The events, keynote speaker, Anas Sarwar, Leader of the Scottish Labour Party shared his insights on the future industries, including GB Energy, offshore wind, grid investments, CCS, and more.
The packed event explored how technology and innovation can drive Scotland’s growing influence in the energy transition and how the city can become a key player in shaping the future of energy. Marie shared her hopes for Scotland in driving forward a realistic sustainable, just transition agenda for the country and added that, “COP26 was great, but if we don’t watch, those dreams will turn to dust,” highlighting the need for action and funded policy measures that support robust innovation within the sector.
