Dedicated to the Investment of SME's & Economic Growth
As an investor in people and business, Marie is always looking for opportunities to not only invest in emerging companies, but also to offer advice, support and insight to help on their journey. Marie values non-executive roles and is regularly requested to visit and review companies that require a “Trouble Shooter” to advise on restructuring and rescue packages.
“While running a highly successful company and an investment fund, Marie is also tireless in her support of me and the other companies she works with. Macklin Enterprise Partnership plays an important role in supporting some great Scottish start-ups. Marie is generous with her time, as well as her money, and has collaborated with me on the enterprise deals Appointed is working on. She has helped guide us to maximise the impact of the opportunities we have in front of us, navigating the start-up challenge alongside myself and the team. Marie is one of the most focused and driven people I have ever met.”

“I have got to know Marie over a number of years in connection with her proposed HALO project in Belfast Northern Ireland. Marie has clear passion and drive to support the regeneration and redevelopment of those communities who have suffered extreme hardship. Her passion for wanting to empower local communities and bring back opportunities for young people has been truly inspiring… I have now doubt she will continue to work to ensure everyone in Belfast benefits from the success of her work.”

Growth and Expansion and Creating a New Tomorrow’s World for Our Children’s Children
Commencing her early career in financial services, Marie worked in the City of London, Glasgow and New York, equipping her with the skills, experience and investment knowledge to support the growth and expansion of emerging SMEs and corporates.
As a force of nature and known for her dedication and investment in urban regeneration, in particular brownfield sites across the UK, Marie is also investing in the untapped social capital within communities, creating neighbourhoods with a beating heart of hope.
These projects and investments are founded on sustainability and stand at the forefront within the United Nations Net Zero 2045 goal. The HALO Enterprise and Innovation Centre situated in Kilmarnock is several years ahead of the Paris Climate agreement 2015 – demonstrating Marie’s commitment to Net Zero.
