Marie appears on STV’s Scotland Tonight programme to discuss the UK Budget

Wednesday 26th November 2025 | STV | Scotland Tonight

Marie last night capped off a busy week of media engagement by appearing on STV’s flagship current affairs discussion programme Scotland Tonight to discuss the implications of yesterday’s UK Budget.

Appearing with host Rhona Dougal and alongside fellow guests Kezia Dugdale, Liz Lloyd and Jaoa Sosa, Marie outlined her deep concerns about the impact of the Budget on SME business, ordinary workers, pensioners and young people.

Branding it a “Stand and Deliver” Budget, she stressed the need for measures to boost bottom-up economic growth.

Marie also highlighted the UK Government’s failure to heed pleas to scrap the Energy Profits Levy on North Sea oil and gas exploration, a measure which is severely impacting the economy of North-east Scotland and costing jobs.

Last night’s appearance came after Marie’s appearance in other national media this week discussing current economic issues, beginning last weekend with her article in the Sunday Mail about the planned closure of ExxonMobil’s Fife Ethylene Plant at Mossmorran, and then a prominent piece in the Herald previewing the Budget.
